Welcome.
I’m glad you found the Wild + Free community! We’re a new W+F group just starting up in the Rock Hill/York County area.
What is Wild + Free? Wild + Free is a community of moms and homeschoolers, that originally started on Instagram (see @wildandfree.co, #wildandfreechildren, #wildandfreegroups, #wildandfreemama), to support and encourage each other in our homeschool and mothering journeys, but has grown to include nature groups, book clubs, mom’s night out, a conference, and more all over the country.
We’re a group of mothers and homeschoolers who want our children to not only receive a quality education, but also to experience the adventure, freedom, and wonder of childhood.
We began in September 2016 with nature meet-ups (or field trips) twice a month in and around York County, and as we grow we’ll add other activities. I’d love to add in a book club, handicraft fair, and mom’s night out.
For our nature meetings, we meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10am and follow Ambleside Online for our seasonal nature focus. For the fall (Sept – Nov) we’ll be looking at invertebrates, in the winter (Jan – Mar) will be soil, rocks, and minerals, and in the spring (Apr – Jun) will be fish.
